Julie joined the HopeWell Board in 2018 and is currently a doctoral student and research assistant in Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University. As a former foster child, Julie has a strong interest in the child welfare system. Her research interests include the social, emotional, and academic development of children growing up in foster care, inclusion of childrenā€™s home context and cultural communities in early childhood education, and educational, employment, and health trajectories of youth ageing-out of the foster care system. Julie is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Boston and also has her Master of Science degree in speech and language pathology.
