Joas van den Berg is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in water authority management and environmental liability underwriting. Currently serving as a Board Member of the Water Authority at Hoogheemraadschap van Rijnland, Joas is responsible for water safety and surface water quality in a region predominantly below sea level. Holding the position of Senior Underwriter Liability & Environmental at AXA XL, Joas leads the delivery of global insurance solutions while chairing the Green Committee. As a Course Leader at ProDemos, Joas enhances the capabilities of Dutch Water Authorities through targeted training programs. Previous roles include Underwriter for Environmental Liability at AIG and Project Manager in sustainability initiatives across various organizations. Joas holds a Master of Science in Systems Engineering, Policy Analysis, and Management from Delft University of Technology.
