Tod Minnich began their work experience as the Executive Director of the Nashville Division at the T.J. Martell Foundation in 1991. Tod then became the National Executive Director in 1999. In 2003, Tod Minnich joined the Honeywell Foundation as the President and CEO.

Tod Minnich earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Recording Industry Management from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) between 1989 and 1992. Later, in 2004 and 2005, they attended Ball State University to study for an MBA, although it is unclear if they completed the degree.
