James Chalmers

Preconstruction Engineering Intern at HPM

James Chalmers is an undergraduate research assistant at MSU Athlete Engineering, where responsibilities include designing and improving hardware technologies for data collection, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on human performance data, and leading data analysis for a project involving a wearable technology company and a global car manufacturer. Previous experience includes serving as an ILTP Lifeguard Instructor at AMS Pools, where James taught lifeguarding skills to over 100 students, and held roles such as Pool Manager and Head Guard. Additionally, James worked as a Construction Research Intern at Burns Dirt Construction Inc. and coached swimmers of various ages at Three Chimneys Farm Swim Team, progressing from Sparks Coach to Head Coach. James is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Mississippi State University, with a high school diploma focused on Scientific Research and Computer Science from Lambert High School.
