Omar Khawaja is currently a board member at HITRUST. Prior to this, they were with ACTION-Housing, Inc., Carnegie Mellon University, and HITRUST. Omar has also been a part of Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. In their previous role at Highmark Health, they were responsible for the information security and risk management program. Before that, they were with George Mason University as faculty for the graduate program in telecommunications. Omar has also worked with Verizon Enterprise Solutions as the head of product marketing for security solutions. At Verizon, they were responsible for product marketing of the company's security solutions business in Americas, EMEA, and APAC. Omar has also looked after product marketing for Verizon's global security portfolio which included 550+ dedicated security consultants in 28 countries, the largest and highest rated MSSP in the world, the most PCI auditors (140+ QSAs) in the world, and the largest breach investigator (2000+ breaches, 1 Billion records) in the world.
