Ken Vander Wal is currently a Board Member at HITRUST. Ken has previously served in various leadership roles, including Chief Compliance Officer at Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) from January 2009 to December 2019, Board of Directors and Volunteer at ISACA from January 2007 to December 2014, and Partner at Ernst & Young from April 1979 to June 2008. In their role as Chief Compliance Officer at HITRUST, Ken was responsible for developing policies and procedures to ensure quality and manage risk, as well as establishing programs to measure and ensure compliance. As the global leader for Ernst & Young's third party reporting and SAS 70 services, they were responsible for developing the methodology that the firm followed when performing third party reviews, as well as being the client service partner on a number of global clients. Ken has also served as the independent review on many third party reports globally that have been issued by various firms.
Ken Vander Wal has an MBA from The George Washington University School of Business and a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Iowa. Ken also has a degree in Mathematics from Dordt University.
