Alessandra Lombardi is currently a Design Safety Engineer at Hitachi Rail since March 2024. Prior experience includes roles as a Functional Safety Engineer at ALTEN Sweden and Volvo Cars from September 2021 to January 2025, and as a Safety and Reliability Engineer at Teoresi Group, focusing on Failure Modes and Effects Analysis for Rotorcraft Unmanned Aerial Systems. Alessandra has also served as a Functional Safety Assessor at H-ON Consulting, conducting assessments for SIL certification in accordance with IEC 61508 standards, and as a Researcher Functional Safety Engineer within a project at Università di Firenze. Additional experience includes a master thesis on Fault Tree Analysis with Alstom and contributions at the Maker Faire Rome for MathWorks. Alessandra holds a Master's Degree in Automation and Electric Engineering from Università degli Studi di Firenze and a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering from the same institution.
