Erika McDowell has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2016 when they were a Student and Resident Assistant at Central Michigan University. In 2017, they were a Wrangler at SpringHill Camps, and in 2019 they were a Museum Assistant at CMU Museum of Cultural and Natural History. Erika also interned at Andersonville National Historic Site and the National Prisoner of War Museum in 2019. In 2020, they were a Certified Substitute Teacher at Phenix City School District, a Project Manager at Kendall Electric, and a Technical Writing Consultant at TAYLOR CPA & ASSOCIATES, PC. Most recently, in 2022, they were an Events Manager at the Historical Society of Michigan.
Erika McDowell graduated from Central Michigan University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Public/Applied History and Anthropology. In February 2020, they obtained a Substitute Teacher certification from the Alabama State Board of Education.
