Neil Parmenter, ICD.D has a diverse and extensive work experience. Neil started their career as a Media Relations Coordinator at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young in 1994. From there, they worked as a Public Relations Consultant at Environics Communications in 1998. In 1999, they joined RBC Royal Bank as a Corporate Communications Advisor. In 2001, they became the Director of Corporate and Media Relations at Oasis Technology in EFD Group. In 2002, they moved to TD and held roles such as Manager/Senior Manager of External Communications and AVP/VP of Corporate Communications. Neil later served as Senior Vice President & Chief Communications Officer, Global Corporate & Public Affairs, where they led the strategic direction for TD's global communications and government relations team. Neil also served as the Senior Vice President, Corporate and Public Affairs (USA), providing strategic counsel for the bank during the financial crisis and a major merger. In 2014, they became a Member of the Board of Directors at Toronto Finance International. In 2017, they took on the role of President & CEO at the Canadian Bankers Association and became a Board Director at the International Banking Federation (IBFed). In 2022, they became a Senior Advisor at Global Public Affairs, and in 2023, they joined Hill & Knowlton as the Senior Vice President & National Lead, Corporate Communications & Advisory.
Neil Parmenter, ICD.D holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Honours degree in Political Science and Government from Western University. Neil has also completed an Executive Course in Strategic Marketing Management from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. In addition, they hold a Graduate Certificate in Public Relations from Humber College and has completed the Canadian Securities Course from the Canadian Securities Institute. Neil Parmenter has also obtained the ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2022.
