Simon Costa is a Senior Non-Executive Director at Highcroft Investments Plc. Previously, they served as the Senior Bursar at St Edmund Hall, Oxford University from January 2011 to December 2018. In this role, they oversaw the finance, investment, and remuneration committees, as well as the college’s £50 million endowment. Simon was also responsible for managing all financial, budgeting, cash-flow, accounting, and estates functions.

During their time at St Edmund Hall, Simon made numerous achievements, including the professionalization of the college’s finances, the restructuring of the endowment to enable active management of asset allocation, and the execution of a £20 million Private Placement on the best terms of any college private placement at the time. Simon also won discretionary grants of £1.3 million from the University and implemented a Home Loan Scheme for newly-appointed college academics.

In addition to their work at St Edmund Hall, Simon has also served as a member of the Governing Body, an Official Fellow, and a Trustee. Simon has represented the college on the Estates Bursars’ Committee and at University level. Simon is currently a Senior Non-Executive Director at Highcroft Investments Plc.

Simon Costa attended the King Edward VI Five Ways School and The Blue Coat School before completing a BSSc in Banking & Finance at the University of Birmingham. Simon then went on to complete an MPhil in Management at the University of Oxford.
