Gwen Andersen has a long history of work experience, beginning in 1987 when they worked as a Project Planner for LTV Aerospace & Defense. In 1989 they became a self-employed Computer Consultant, and in 1994 they worked as a Computer Network Help Desk for Doner Advertising. From 1997 to 2001, they worked as a Help Desk Supervisor for Rock Financial, and from 2001 to 2017 they were self-employed, running a home business. Since 2017, they have been an ITSA Leasing Support Manager for Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Most recently, they have been a Customer Success Manager for High Touch Technologies since 2022.

Gwen Andersen received a Paralegal Certificate from the Southeastern Paralegal Institute in 1991. Gwen also obtained a BS in Marketing from St. Cloud State University and the Herberger Business School between 1982 and 1985.
