Ariel Baron is an experienced professional in migration and community development, currently serving as a Cultural Orientation Facilitator at HIAS since April 2022, where responsibilities include teaching asylum seekers from Eritrea, Sudan, and Ethiopia about the migration process in Canada and delivering culturally sensitive workshops. Prior experience includes a Program Development Intern role at the Danish Refugee Council, conducting conflict sensitivity analyses and evaluating cash assistance programs. Additional roles include teaching English to refugee women, engaging in project management at Innovation: Africa, and facilitating focus groups for migrant workers at CIMI. Ariel has also volunteered with Save a Child's Heart, served as an intern at Management Systems International, and worked with the International Rescue Committee as a Refugee Caseworker Intern. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Maryland and the University of Cape Town, as well as a Master's degree in International Community Development from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
