Millie Shah has a diverse and extensive work experience in the scientific field. Millie is currently working at HI-Bio as a Senior Scientist, starting in March 2023. Prior to their current role, they served as a Scientist II at HI-Bio from April 2022 to March 2023.
Before joining HI-Bio, Millie worked at BridgeBio as a Translational Scientist from February 2021 to February 2022. Millie also gained experience as a Scientific Developer at Emerald Cloud Lab from November 2019 to February 2021.
Millie's previous experience includes working as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at AstraZeneca from April 2018 to October 2019. Prior to that, they were a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Virginia from 2012 to 2018, specializing in cellular engineering to model chronic infection in vitro and developing assays to measure endogenous phosphatase activity.
Earlier in their career, Millie worked as a Computational Systems Biology Intern at Merrimack from January 2015 to March 2015, where they contributed to the development of a multi-scale ODE model of DNA damage response to chemotherapy. Millie also worked as an Assay Development Engineer at Jhpiego from August 2011 to May 2012, where they developed point-of-care diagnostics for pregnant women.
Millie's early research experience includes working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Institute for Computational Medicine from 2009 to 2012. Millie also had a summer internship at NIH in Pediatric Oncology in 2011.
Millie Shah attended The Johns Hopkins University from 2008 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. Millie then pursued further education at the University of Virginia from 2012 to 2017, completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical Engineering.
