Kathya Meza is currently a Special Assistant at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services since January 2023, following a tenure as a CHCI Public Policy Fellow at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute from August 2022 to August 2023. Prior experience includes serving as a Legislative Fellow in the Office of Representative Darren Soto and conducting research at the Medical College of Wisconsin, focusing on biomaterials and tissue engineering. Earlier roles involved training students in workshop safety as a Machine Shop Student Intern at Marquette University and managing building operations while studying at Marquette, where Kathya earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical/Medical Engineering in 2022. Additional experience includes a brief role as a Specialized Cake Decorator at Walmart.
