James Shields has been in the aerospace engineering field since 2015. James began their career as an Aerospace Engineering Intern at Generation Orbit Launch Services, Inc., followed by an Aerospace Engineer II role at SpaceWorks Enterprises, Inc. (SEI). In 2018, they returned to Generation Orbit Launch Services, Inc. as an Aerospace Engineer II and Lead Aerodynamics Engineer/Team Captain for the AUVSI Competition at Saint Louis University. In 2019, they became a Project Engineer at CFD Research Corporation and in 2020 they took on the role of Aerodynamics Engineer at Hermeus. Additionally, James has held the role of Resident Life Assistant at the Upward Bound Program since 2013.
James Shields obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Saint Louis University between 2012 and 2016. James then went on to receive a Master's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles between 2016 and 2017.
