Mohammed I. Umar has over 25 years of experience in the banking and finance sector, currently serving as Cluster Control at Heritage Bank Plc since August 2015, where multiple leadership roles in compliance and internal control have been held. Previous positions include roles at Enterprise Bank Limited and Spring Bank Plc, focusing on internal control and corporate audit. Early career experience includes working as a Capital Market Fraud Analyst at the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission and as an Assistant Manager at the Securities & Exchange Commission. Academically, Mohammed holds an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University and a PG degree in International Banking & Finance from The University of Salford, among other certifications such as Associate Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and Certified National Accountant. Additional qualifications include ongoing studies toward an MSc in Business Administration at the National Open University of Nigeria and ACCA part qualification.
