Bharati Chakra has extensive work experience in the non-profit sector. Bharati started their career at Action Aid India as a Junior Program Officer in 2000 and worked there until 2007. Bharati then joined Vasundhara as a Sr. Program Officer from 2007 to 2009. Bharati later joined Save the Children, India as an Advocacy Campaign Communication Coordinator from 2009 to 2014. In 2015, they joined HelpAge India as the State Head in Odisha, where they were responsible for team management, strategy planning, program planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, CSR project implementation, advocacy, partnership management, and liaising with various stakeholders including the government.

Bharati Chakra earned a B.Sc degree in Botany from Utkal University, completing their education from 1996 to 1998. Later, they pursued a Master's Degree in Rural Development from IGNOU. The duration of their study and the specific years for their Master's Degree are not provided.
