Alexandros Phylaktopoulos graduated from the College of Athens in 1965. He attended the Law School of the University of Athens and did graduate studies at Princeton University and Cambridge University. He is the President of College Year in Athens (CYA), as well as its subsidiary educational organization DIKEMES (International Center for Greek and Mediterranean Studies). Since 1986 he has directed the CYA. Before assuming this position, he had served as the Director of the Press Office at the Embassy of Greece in Washington and then at the Embassy in Mexico. He is a member of the Board of Directors. of the Archaeological Society, member of the Board of Directors of the European Association of Study Abroad (EUASA) and President of the Princeton University Alumni Association in Greece. He has been a member of the Board of Directors. companies and educational institutions.
