Rose Cahn currently serves as a Program Officer for the Human Rights Program at the Heising-Simons Foundation since March 2023. Previously, Rose held the position of Managing Attorney at the Immigrant Legal Resource Center from September 2016 to March 2023, where Rose directed a pioneering pro bono project focused on erasing criminal convictions affecting immigration status. Prior roles include Senior Soros Justice Fellow and Director of the Immigrant Post-Conviction Relief Project at the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area, and Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Norton Tooby, specializing in post-conviction relief for immigrants. Rose's early career included clerking for the Honorable Warren J. Ferguson at the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, and advocating for immigrant rights at SEIU Local 32BJ. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Law (JD) from New York University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies and Political Science from Wesleyan University.
