Hakan Gurdal joined Çanakkale Çimento (today part of the joint venture Akçansa) in 1992. He has been appointed Member of the Managing Board as of 1 February 2016. Since 1 April 2016, he has been in charge of the Africa-Eastern Mediterranean Basin Group area. Additionally, he is in charge of HC Trading.
