Ahmed Gawish is an accomplished professional in the field of computer vision and artificial intelligence with a strong focus on healthcare applications and augmented reality/virtual reality. Currently serving as a Computer Vision AR/VR specialist at Google, Ahmed also co-founded WaveBase Inc. and Hedgehog Medical Inc., where the focus includes enhancing ultrasound technology and artery wall detection respectively. In addition to practical applications, Ahmed contributes to academia as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Waterloo. Past experience includes leadership roles in various research projects and development initiatives, notably in smart glasses technology, real-time image processing for welding, and astronaut health assessments. Ahmed Gawish holds a PhD in Image and Video Processing from the University of Waterloo, alongside a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Image Segmentation and Computer Science from Cairo University.
