Jane Brennan has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. Jane began their career as a Postdoc at Harvard University in 1998 and later moved on to work as a Postdoc at the Institute for Stem Cell Research at the University of Edinburgh from 2002 to 2003. In 2003, they joined Genentech as an Associate Scientist, where they worked until 2005. At that point, they transitioned to the University of Edinburgh as a Senior Editor for GUDMAP from 2005 to 2017. From 2016 to the present, Jane has been working at Healx Ltd, starting as a Senior Scientific Curator and progressing to the role of Team Leader in Scientific Curation, before assuming their current position as the Associate Director of Scientific Curation. In their role at Healx, Jane contributes computational methods and pharmacology expertise to identify existing drugs that may treat rare diseases.
Jane Brennan completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biochemistry at The University of Manchester from 1988 to 1991. Jane then pursued a PhD in Developmental Biology at The University of Edinburgh, which they completed from 1993 to 1998. Prior to their university education, Jane studied at Loreto College, St. Albans, Herts, although the specific timeframe and field of study are unknown.
