Dr. Jonathan Gavras is a healthcare executive focused on promoting innovative solutions to healthcare delivery. He has held executive-level positions with health plans and pharmacy benefits management companies. His experience has given him a broad understanding of the drivers of healthcare change and a unique strategic perspective to a quickly evolving industry. He is currently the President of the Florida market for Bright Health Plan.

Prior to joining Bright Health, Jonathan was Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Prime Therapeutics, where he led the specialty pharmacy efforts, which focused extensively on the integration of medical and pharmacy drug management. Formerly, he was President and Chief Medical Officer of Avalon Healthcare Solutions, a comprehensive laboratory benefit management company. Jonathan was a senior executive at Florida Blue from 2006 to 2014, serving first as Senior Vice President, Delivery System, and Chief Medical Officer before becoming the first President of Guidewell Health, a subsidiary of Florida Blue’s parent company, Guidewell. As President of Guidewell Health, Jonathan was responsible for the direct delivery of care models within the company. Prior to joining Florida Blue, he held several senior leadership positions at UnitedHealth Group and Prudential Healthcare respectively. His expertise in developing and implementing value-based care models earned him election to the Healthcare Financing Management Association (HFMA) National Board of Directors. His appointment to the HFMA National Board of Directors was the first time a member was elected from a commercial insurance company.

Jonathan entered his healthcare executive career after a successful clinical career in Pulmonary Medicine. He holds a BA in Chemistry and Psychology from Case Western Reserve University and a Medical Doctor degree from New York Medical College.
