Melissa Householder has extensive work experience in cybersecurity and security operations. Melissa is currently serving as the Senior Director of Security Operations at HealthEquity, where they lead specialized teams in areas such as cyber threat intelligence, security content response automation, incident response, and insider threat management. Prior to joining HealthEquity, Melissa was the Chief Executive Officer at AZNExIS, a group of security professionals providing managed security and incident response solutions. Melissa has also held positions at Union Bank, Charles Schwab, Apollo Group, and YMCA, where they gained expertise in areas such as SIEM monitoring, threat management, and incident response. Overall, Melissa's career has been focused on cultivating proactive threat hunting strategies and ensuring robust digital defenses.
Melissa Householder obtained a Master's degree in Cyber/Computer Forensics and Counterterrorism from Western Governors University in 2019-2020. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's of Applied Science Degree in Information System Security from ITT Technical Institute in 2009-2011, and an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Network Systems from the same institution in 2006-2009. Additionally, Melissa has obtained several certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in February 2021, Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) from EC-Council in December 2019, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council in October 2019, and GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) and GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) from GIAC in December 2014 and March 2014, respectively.
