Rania Mouchantaf, PhD, currently serves as the Acting Executive Director at Health Canada since January 2023, following a tenure as Associate Director General at the Public Health Agency of Canada. Previous roles at Health Canada include Acting Executive Director and Associate Director, focusing on drug safety monitoring. In academia, Rania served as Associate Professor at the University of Montreal and Interim Director at McGill University’s Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. Rania's early career involved positions as a Scientific Evaluator at Health Canada and an Analyst in business development at Paladin Labs. Rania holds a PhD in Pharmacology and Therapeutics from McGill University, along with a post-doctoral fellowship in Oncology and Cancer Biology from the University of Montreal and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University.
