Cimmo Nurmi serves as the Vice President for Research and Research Director at Satakunta University of Applied Sciences since January 2005. Currently, Cimmo holds the position of Adjunct Professor of computational intelligence at the University of Turku and has been the CEO, Chairman, and Founder of CI Computational Intelligence since 2007. Additional roles include Senior Advisor at Headai, Board Chairman of Ulla Tuomisen säätiö, and Board Member of Lalli Oy and Yrityspalvelu ENTER. Cimmo contributes as a Scientific Member for both the National Collaboration Forum for Scientific Computing and MATINE Scientific Advisory Board for Defence. An accomplished academic, Cimmo earned a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Turku.
