Jeanne Noble is Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco Emergency Department where she serves as the Director of COVID Response and Disaster Preparedness. She is also Director of Emergency Medicine Simulation for the residency program where she teaches residents and medical students the craft of emergency medicine. Jeanne is passionate about medical education and was awarded the National Emergency Medicine Excellence in Bedside Teaching Award by the American College of Emergency Medicine in 2020.
Jeanne has been a vocal advocate for youth during the COVID pandemic, calling attention to a worsening mental health crisis among youth over the past two years. She has written extensively about the importance of prioritizing child-centered policies during COVID, with pieces in several national media outlets including The Washington Post, The Atlantic, Time and The Wall Street Journal.
Jeanne graduated with a B.A. in International Affairs from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an M.A. in Latin American Studies from UC Berkeley, followed by a two year research fellowship in Peru focused on improving family planning and maternal health services. She is a graduate of UCSF’s School of Medicine and completed her emergency medicine training at Alameda County’s Highland Hospital. Jeanne continues to work in Global Health, providing emergency medicine training to physicians in Mexico, Peru, Nicaragua, and Borneo.
Jeanne is thrilled to have joined the Head Royce community and Board of Trustees. She lives in Berkeley with her husband Tom, a water engineer for the EPA, and her two sons, Mateo and Tavio, Class of ’27.
