Karla Dunston, M.D. is a seasoned medical executive with extensive experience in utilization management and clinical program development. Currently serving as the Sr Executive Medical Director at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas since 2017, Karla has been instrumental in improving care cost, utilization, and clinical program delivery, while supervising medical director teams across various lines of business. Previously, roles included Medical Director II, and Retail Medical Director I at the same organization, where responsibilities encompassed supervising medical directors and executing Utilization Management reviews.
