Antony McElwee has extensive work experience in the field of recruitment and staffing. Antony started their career at Hays in 2006, initially working as a Team Manager in the Auckland CBD office. In 2007, they took on a leadership role in the South Auckland office, where they developed a team of 5 consultants specializing in Accountancy & Finance. In 2009, Antony moved to Hays' Sydney office and joined the Senior Finance team, focusing on financial services temporary and contract staff. In 2011, they were promoted to Vice President within the Client Solutions team, where they worked with clients across various industries to develop industry-leading solutions, particularly in project recruitment and recruitment process outsourcing. Antony also has experience in executive search engagements, having conducted searches up to a listed company Board Director level. In 2022, they joined the Fernie Chamber of Commerce as a Board Director and later became the President of the Board of Directors in 2023.

Antony McElwee obtained a Certificate in Leadership and Inclusion from Centennial College in the field of Intercultural/Multicultural and Diversity Studies in the years 2021-2022. Prior to that, they attended St Kentigern College from 1994 to 2000, although no degree or field of study is specified for this period.
