Alex Da Silva is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in external communications and public affairs. Since June 2015, Alex has served as Director of External Communications at Hawaiian Airlines. Prior roles include Communications Specialist at the Hawaii State Department of Education from July 2011 to June 2015, and Public Affairs Officer for the Hawaii State Board of Education from May 2009 to July 2011. Alex began a career in journalism as a Reporter at The Honolulu Star-Bulletin, focusing on education, from June 2006 to February 2009, and previously reported for the Associated Press and completed an internship with Scripps Howard News Service. Alex holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, obtained in 2005.
