Kiaka Gaughen, MEd., is an experienced School Social Worker at the Hawaii State Department of Education since July 2001, specializing in direct treatment services, service coordination, and improving client quality of life. Additional expertise includes serving as a Behavioral Health Specialist, providing individual therapy and school consultation. Kiaka is also the Founder and Owner of Island Built Athletes, offering website management and college counseling services for student athletes. Previous roles include Football Chaplain and Assistant Football Coach at Hawaii Preparatory Academy, as well as Clinical Therapist at Hawaii Counseling and Education Center. Kiaka began a career in education as an Educational Specialist at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and holds both a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the same institution.
