Umashankar Shanmugaraj is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in the electrical and mechanical engineering sectors. Currently serving as Associate Vice President at Havells India Ltd since August 2019, Umashankar leads R&D initiatives for LV Switchgear products, specializing in electromechanical/LV circuit breaker design and reliability. Previous roles include General Manager and Deputy General Manager at Havells, where leadership in circuit breaker teams and management of new product initiatives were prioritized. Prior to Havells, Umashankar held significant positions at GE Power, Brakes India Private Limited, LGB ROLON Chain Limited, and Premier Polytronics, gaining expertise in product design, development, and strategic resource management. Umashankar holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Institution of Engineers of India and an Associate's degree from Christ the King Institute of Technology.
