Fabian E. Z. Ercan, PhD, currently serves as a Docent, Onderzoeker, and Projectleider at HAS Hogeschool since August 2021, contributing as a Kenniskringlid in the Lectoraat Klimaatrobuuste Landschappen. Previously, Ercan held a position as Projectleider at MILON in mid-2021. A significant portion of Ercan's academic career was spent at Utrecht University from September 2015 to May 2021 as a PhD Researcher, specializing in Arctic climate change and its biological interactions, while also engaging in palaeoecological research. Ercan's experience includes a Visiting Scientist role at TalTech and multiple research projects focusing on historical climate events and biological responses, along with teaching assistant roles. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Biology from Utrecht University, alongside specialized studies in Arctic Plant Ecology and GIS for Earth Scientists.
