David Stanton serves as President of Harsco’s Clean Earth Division and is responsible for the overall growth, environmental sustainability, and safety of Clean Earth.
David has over 27 years of experience in the water and environmental industries in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to joining Clean Earth, David served as CEO of SUEZ Utility Holdings, Inc., responsible for overseeing the third largest portfolio of regulated water and wastewater businesses in the nation. Innovation, coupled with an increased investment in renewal capital and acquisitions, drove the business to an unprecedented improvement in sustainability and economic metrics.
Prior to Suez, David led the growth and improvement of water and environmental service companies. He served as chief executive officer and member of the board of APTwater, a start-up company focused on re-use of difficult to treat water. As chief operating officer and interim chief financial officer of SouthWest Water where he helped lead the company through a turnaround ending in a sale to a private equity company. As executive vice president and Interim CFO of EarthTech, a Tyco Company focused on environmental and infrastructure projects worldwide, which sold to AECOM. David launched his water career in 1990 with a startup company which was acquired by Wheelabrator Technologies and now is an integral part of Evoqua, Inc.
David holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Cornell University and has had continuing education at the UVA-Darden School and in Six Sigma & Lean process improvement methodologies.
