Mazharul Islam is an experienced educator currently serving as a Secondary Science Teacher and KS3 Science Coordinator at Harrow International School Beijing since August 2020. Previously, Mazharul held the position of Secondary Science Teacher at Al Basma British School from August 2018 to August 2020. Early career experience includes working as a CABAS Teacher I at Jigsaw Trust and as a waiter at Passage To India for an extended period. In addition to teaching, Mazharul has demonstrated leadership skills as President of Surrey Taekwondo, where significant results were achieved at national competitions. Research experience includes a project at Shanghai Jiao Tong University investigating the effects of oestradiol on brown adipose tissue and serving as a student facilitator at Seoul National University. Educational qualifications include a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Sussex and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Surrey.
