Jim Weixel is a seasoned legal professional specializing in intellectual property law with extensive experience in patent prosecution and strategy. Currently serving as Legal Counsel at Harrity & Harrity, LLP since December 2020, Jim performs second attorney reviews for patent applications, mentors new attorneys, and engages in firm innovation projects. Prior to this role, Jim was the Senior Intellectual Property Counsel at Accenture, overseeing IP matters for multiple high-revenue business units. Jim also held the position of Managing Patent Counsel at The MathWorks, where responsibilities included managing the patent team and developing patent strategy. Earlier in the career, Jim gained experience in patent prosecution at Harrity & Harrity and Bowditch & Dewey, and worked as an Electrical Engineer and Patent Attorney at Verizon, focusing on patent identification and strategy development. Academic credentials include a Juris Doctorate in Patent Law from the University of Connecticut School of Law and advanced degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and The Catholic University of America.
