Laurence Gainey is a seasoned professional in the field of intellectual property and molecular biology, currently serving as a Partner and Patent Director at HGF Limited since September 2017. Previously, Laurence held the position of Senior Patent Attorney and Principal Patent Attorney at AstraZeneca from September 1998 to August 2017, and began as a Trainee Patent Attorney at British Biotech from 1994 to 1998. Earlier in the career, Laurence worked as a Post Doctoral Research Scientist at British Biotech Ltd. from 1991 to 1994, focusing on molecular biology techniques and the development of quantitative DNA hybridisation assays. Laurence earned a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Reading in 1991 and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Essex in 1987.
