Diane Smoot currently serves as an Associate Professor at Harris-Stowe State University, with a career that includes roles as Assistant Professor and Instructor at the same institution since August 1996. In June 2017, Diane participated in a six-week Faculty in Residence program at Google, which was part of a partnership with UNCF aimed at equipping HBCU faculty to prepare students for technology careers, where a module on Java threading was presented. Diane holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Curriculum and Instruction from Saint Louis University and a Master's Degree in Computer Education from Fontbonne University.
