Hector de Leon is a seasoned professional in governmental affairs, public engagement, and elections with extensive experience in the public sector. Currently serving as Senior Advisor for Governmental Affairs, Public Engagement and Elections at Harris County Clerk since January 2021, Hector previously held multiple roles at Harris County from May 2004 to January 2021, including Senior Election Official, Public Information Officer, and Election Data Analyst. Hector also led the Communications and Outreach Department, focusing on voter access and compliance with the Voting Rights Act. Earlier career experiences include serving as Regional Director at the NALEO Educational Fund, where Hector organized community networks for citizenship assistance, and as Assistant Director and later Director of Latinos Unidos, facilitating grassroots voter engagement. Hector is an alumnus of the University of Houston.
