Dr. Markenya L. Williams currently serves as the Director of Diversity, Equity and Belonging at Ivy Tech Community College, a position held since July 2024. As the Founder and CEO of The Panacea Consulting Firm LLC since 2019, Dr. Williams has also contributed to the Illinois Principals Association as the Diversity & Equity Chair for the Kishwaukee Region until July 2024. In academia, Dr. Williams worked as an Assistant Professor and JEDI Faculty Fellow at Harper College from 2021 to 2024 and held an administrative role within Community Unit School District 300 from 2018 to 2020. Previous experience includes teaching at Chicago Public Schools from 2012 to 2018 and serving as Site Director at MARCY NEWBERRY ASSOCIATION INC from 2006 to 2012. Dr. Williams earned a Doctor of Education from DePaul University and holds multiple Illinois Professional Educator Licenses, along with a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Chicago State University.
