Tao Liu has over 15 years of experience in the field of immunology and allergic diseases. Tao currently works as a Principal Scientist at Harbour Biomed, where they lead a team focused on proposing new drug targets in the tumor microenvironment. Tao is responsible for establishing and developing in vitro cell-based evaluations for mode of action, proof of concept, and antibody candidate screening. Tao collaborates with cross-functional groups to propose syngeneic mouse tumor models. Prior to this role, Tao was an Assistant Professor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School, where they focused on lipid mediators, innate immunity, type 2 immunity, and inflammation. Tao established several animal models to understand the pathogenesis of allergen-induced pulmonary inflammation and other respiratory diseases. Before that, Tao served as an Instructor and Research Fellow in the same field at Harvard Medical School. Tao also has experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher, studying androgen receptor and prosaposin signaling in prostate cancer at LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans. Additionally, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Lund University, focusing on FLT3 signaling in leukemia. During this time, they mapped and characterized tyrosine phosphorylation sites and determined signaling differences of FLT3 mutations. Overall, Tao Liu has a strong background in immunology, allergic diseases, and cancer research.

Tao Liu has a diverse education history. In 1995, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology at Shandong University. Tao then pursued a Master of Science degree in the same field from 1999 to 2002 at the same university. Following that, Tao Liu joined Peking Union Medical College, where they studied Pharmacology and obtained a PhD degree in 2005.

In 2015, Tao Liu decided to expand their knowledge and skills by enrolling at UMass Boston. There, they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science from 2015 to 2017.

In terms of additional certifications, Tao Liu received the "SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9" from SAS in April 2017. Additionally, they obtained the "SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 (CBP)" certification from the same institution in the same month and year.
