This is a skilled position requiring extensive knowledge and experience in the construction industry. Playing a key role in the successful completion of any build, Superintendents must exhibit a strong work and leadership skills along with the ability to plan, organize, direct and control large scale, high-end residential construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and oversee jobsite safety.
- Identify all technical aspects and any problem areas prior to construction.
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
- Scheduling and monitoring subcontractors.
- Determine production sequence.
- Coordination of scopes of work with trades and subcontractors.
- Maintain and update construction schedule including forecasts, upcoming deliveries and outside trades.
- Keeping progress schedules current.
- Assist in calculating completion percentages for monthly invoicing and reporting.
- Review RFI logs continuously and identify any issues that might affect the project.
- Communicate with engineering, estimating and planning to ensure compliance with specifications and schedule.
- Maintain close communication with project manager on any unforeseen problems that develop.
- Complete daily reports.
- Ensure layout and quality control.
- Oversee foreman and carpenters.
- Track time and material work.
- Review shop drawings and submittals.
Experience:
- High school degree or equivalent. A construction management or equivalent field experience preferred
- Completion of craft apprenticeship program or equivalent skill level and training.
- 10 years of experience in supervisory position.
- Ability to understand project scopes and objectives as well as other construction trades.
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies and procedures.
- Current OSHA-30 Certification (or obtained within six months from date of hire).
Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems before major issues develop.
- Effective use of computers and other technology.
- Willingness to be held accountable and act honestly and with integrity.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain diplomatic and calm under pressure.
