Loni Smith has had a diverse work experience. Loni currently serves as the CEO of Hanover Auto Team since December 2018. Prior to that, they were the Executive Director of The Burdis Family Foundation, starting in 2009. Loni has also worked in education, serving as an Adjunct Professor at both York College of Pennsylvania and Christian School of York. At Christian School of York, they held various leadership positions such as K-12 Principal and Upper School Principal. Loni also had a role in the United States Department of Navy's Outstanding Scholars Program from 2001 to 2004.

Loni Smith holds a Master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania, which was achieved between 2001 and 2003. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh from 1998 to 2000. Loni Smith also attended South Western High School from 1994 to 1998.
