Michael Cortez, CLEE, MSCJ, currently serves as a Subject Matter Expert at Tiffin University, where responsibilities include course design and instruction for the Criminal Justice Program. With a long-standing career at the Hancock County Sheriff's Office since February 1994, Michael holds the position of Sergeant. As the owner of 232 Defense, LLC, established in March 2017, Michael provides training in firearms for both novice and experienced shooters, including advanced training for obtaining an Ohio Conceal Handgun License. Additionally, Michael has been a volunteer with Safe Ride Home since December 2003, promoting safe transportation for individuals impaired by alcohol. Previous experience includes co-ownership of Freedom Firearms Training of Northwest Ohio, specializing in Ohio Concealed Carry Training and crime prevention education. Michael's educational background encompasses a Master's degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Tiffin University and certifications from the Ohio Association of Chief's of Police.
