Hugh Douglas is an experienced engineering professional specializing in the Oil and Gas sector, currently serving as Chief Technical Advisor at Halliburton since July 2013, where efforts include developing new intellectual property and identifying transformative technologies. Previous roles at Halliburton featured positions as Principal Engineer, developing advanced tools and technologies, including award-winning Wireline and Rotary Steerable Systems. Before joining Halliburton, Hugh Douglas worked as a Senior Engineer at Schlumberger Oil and Gas, concentrating on power electronics for drilling tools. Academic contributions include a tenure as Senior Faculty in the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Cape Town, where focus areas included Power Engineering and supervising graduate research.
