Andrea Hamilton is a highly experienced professional in the field of analytical operations and quality control, with a focus on gene therapy and molecular microbiology. Currently serving as a Volunteer at Main Line Animal Rescue since February 2024, Andrea has held key positions including Associate Director of Analytical Operations at Novartis, where responsibilities included leading the technical transfer of analytics for AAV gene therapy. Prior roles encompassed leadership in Quality Control at Gyroscope Therapeutics and Freeline, where Andrea developed QC strategies and ensured validation of release assays. Earlier experience includes significant contributions at GSK, Envigo ++++, and NDA Analytics, with a strong foundation in assay development during a postdoctoral fellowship at Seattle Children's Hospital. Andrea earned a PhD in Molecular Microbiology and a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Sunderland.
