Martina Lefterova has extensive experience in clinical laboratory leadership, currently serving as Vice President and Clinical Laboratory Director at Guardant Health since January 2018. Prior roles include Senior Medical Director at Guardant Health, as well as Senior Medical and Clinical Laboratory Director at Personalis, Inc. from July 2015 to December 2017. Martina began clinical training at Stanford Health Care, completing a residency in Clinical Pathology and a fellowship in Molecular and Genetic Pathology, focusing on genetic and genomic test interpretation, virology, and microbiology. Early research at the University of Pennsylvania centered on obesity, diabetes, and fat cell development. Martina holds an MD and PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology with a minor in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh. Research interests include the development of novel molecular tests and the application of next generation sequencing technology in clinical settings.
