Michele Catanzaro is an experienced freelance journalist with a focus on science, science policy, and current affairs. Since 2010, Michele has reported for Nature Publishing Group, emphasizing Southern Europe and Latin America. At El Periódico de Catalunya since 2007, Michele covers science, health, technology, and societal issues, particularly concerning Italian Mafias in Spain. Contributions to Le Scienze since 2004 highlight Michele's expertise in science news. Additionally, Michele has written popular science articles and columns on network theory during freelance work from 2001 to 2013. A former press officer at ICFO from 2008 to 2009, Michele holds a PhD in Physics from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, where research focused on dynamical processes in complex networks.
