Gregor Bahrenberg started their work experience in 1999 as a Post Doc at RWTH Aachen University's Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology. In 2001, they transitioned to Grünenthal GmbH, where they held various roles, including Lab Head, Senior Grant Manager, IPRL in vitro biology and biomarker research associate, Research Project Lead, and currently serves as the Head of the Target Incubator Unit.

Gregor Bahrenberg completed their Diploma in molecular biology, microbiology, and plant physiology at RWTH Aachen University in 1995. Gregor then pursued further studies, obtaining a Dr.rer.nat. degree in IZKF BIOMAT. Urology from the same university in 1999. In between, they studied Gene mapping, plant genetics, and molecular biology at IPK Gatersleben in 1995-1996.
