Michaela Copenhaver, MBA, has a diverse work experience. Michaela started their career at USRowing in 2013, where they trained full-time as a lightweight rower for 8 years and successfully secured a spot on Team USA. Michaela was responsible for acquiring training tools, budgeting, and fundraising to support international trips, including 2 World Championships.

In 2014, Michaela joined Summit Educational Group as a Premier Tutor. Michaela prepared middle and high school students for standardized exams, such as SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, and AP. Michaela also coordinated cross-functional collaboration between students, parents, school staff, other tutors/teachers, and the central office. Through their excellent communication, responsiveness, and organization skills, they provided over 700 hours of tutoring, drove more than $150K of revenue, and generated 20+ referrals and repeat clients.

In 2020, they joined Brightlight Capital as a Financial Analyst. In this role, they screened investment pitches, assessed the quality of business/management, valuation, and catalysts using detailed financial models and extensive primary research. Michaela synthesized their findings into key categories and provided investment recommendations directly to the portfolio manager. Michaela held this position until December 2022.
